Bagan (formerly Pagan) with around 10 000 temples, monasteries and pagodas built between the 11th and the 13th centuries was a capital of the Kingdom of Pagan. Nowadays is one of the highlights of Myanmar and one of the most popular tourist destinations there. The site is especially worth visiting at sunrise or sunset, when the hues of the sun make it incredibly beautiful.
