Inle Lake is one of the biggest attractions of Burma. The huge and shallow lake is picturesquely located in the surroundings of Shan Hills and it's home for over 70 thousands people with Intha as the largest group.

Intha live in the stilted houses and their main occupation is fishing. Every morning Intha men are starting a new day on their teakwood canoes.

They're especially famous for their unique way of rowing. Unlike others, Intha fishermen use their legs to row their small boats, so that they have free hands. By balancing on the helm and paddling in a circular motion with one leg they make their boats moving.
They also use special tall conical nets to catch fish. Rowing with legs allows them to drop nets over passing fish, which they can spot in the clear and shallow water. Late in the afternoon they are coming back home with carps, catfish or eels.
